Virtual Try-On Information Policy

This Virtual Try-On Information Policy applies to your use of the virtual try-on application provided by Bondi Sands Australia Pty Ltd. and its affiliated companies.  We have partnered with Perfect Corp., who created and hosts the application.

Why we offer the virtual try-on experience

The purpose of using and processing your personal information in the virtual try-on application is to provide you with a helpful way to evaluate our products for potential purchase and use.

How the application works

The virtual try-on application runs and processes data on your personal device or browser.  You may either use the live service (using the camera on your device) or you may upload an existing image from your device.  Your image will be processed locally on your device, and we will not receive or collect the image, either in its original or altered form.

The application uses an algorithm to analyse your image to detect face landmarks to localise the region around key facial features (such as the outline of the eyes, the lower part of the nose, the outline of the lips, and so forth).  This information is then used to apply a digital rendering of our product to the correct areas.  Your image and information will not be used to identify or verify your identity.  

The virtual try-on application processes your image locally on your device.  Once you complete your virtual try-on session, your image will be automatically deleted from your device or browser, together with the facial landmarks generated by the algorithm used to localize the region around key facial features.

Your consent

When you use the virtual try-on application, you expressly consent to the application temporarily capturing and processing your image, including data obtained or created from your image (such as the automated recognition of various facial landmarks), which might be considered “biometric data” or “biometric information” under applicable law.

YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOUR CONSENT TO THE PRIVACY NOTICE AND THIS VIRTUAL TRY-ON INFORMATION POLICY IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO USE THE VIRTUAL TRY-ON APPLICATION.

Our privacy practices

This Virtual Try-On Information Policy supplements, and does not take the place of, our Privacy Policy.  The Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, share, store, and delete personal information.  It also details your rights with respect to your personal information, including (without limitation) your right to correct, update and delete your personal information.

Your image will not be transferred to or stored by anyone else, including Kao USA Inc., its affiliated companies, or its service providers.  We will not receive, collect or store any image that you submit to the virtual try-on application, whether in its original or altered form.

Updates to this Policy

We may update this Virtual Try-On Information Policy from time to time, particularly if we begin to collect or process personal information in any way that differs from what is described herein.  Any such updates will apply to your use of the virtual try-on application as of the date the updated Virtual Try-On Information Policy is made publicly-available.
