Step 1: Prep Your Skin for a Flawless Finish
Before you even think about applying any self tan, the most important step is to prep your skin. Proper exfoliation is key to an even tan and will make the difference between a streaky and a flawless finish.
Be sure to exfoliate 24 hours prior to self tanning to remove old skin cells. This will allow the tan to go on smoothly and evenly. Pay special attention to the tougher areas of skin like elbows, knees, and ankles, as this is where the tan can stick and become patchy if not prepared properly.
Step 2: Apply Ultra Express Self Tanning Foam
Now for the fun part - application! Ultra Express Self Tanning Foam is quick and easy to apply. Here’s how to make sure you get the best results:
Shake well: To ensure the formula is mixed thoroughly, give your bottle a good shake before use.
Use an Application Mitt: To prevent stained palms and ensure an even application, use a Self Tan Application Mitt. Ultra Express requires two coats to achieve your deepest express glow. Pump foam liberally onto your application mitt and use long sweeping motions to blend evenly into your legs, arms and body. Then use what’s left on your mitt for your hands, elbows, knees and feet. Wait 30 seconds for the tan to dry, then apply another coat.
Blend quickly: Ultra Express is really quick drying, so it’s important to move quickly to ensure an even tan (especially for beginners!).
Step 3: Let It Develop
Once you’ve applied your tan, the ColourLock Accelerator™ technology gets to work by creating a protective barrier on the skin that locks in your tan. The formula develops quickly (1 hour to be exact), so there’s no waiting around for hours to get your desired shade.
Stay cool & dry: Try to avoid sweating or getting wet while your tan develops. Kick back, relax, and let the tan work its magic.
Step 4: Rinse and Reveal Your Glow
Rinse: After 1 hour, jump in the shower and rinse off the excess tan (no soap, body wash or scrubbing!). This includes shampoo and conditioner! Make sure you've washed your hair prior to applying your tan.
Pat dry: After your show, gently pat yourself dry with a towel (again, no rubbing!).

Apply the day of your event or special occasion: Ultra Express is a ‘day-of’ tan, meaning it’s best applied the day of your event rather than the day before. It really is the perfect glow for any occasion!
Moisturise:To keep your skin hydrated and extend the life of your tan, follow up with a tan-friendly lotion or moisturizer (avoid oil-based) 24 hours after applying your tan. Hydration is key to keeping your glow fresh.
